Motorway or through town: how we route Bexleyheath to Heathrow
Heathrow is on the far side of London from Bexleyheath, and there are two sensible ways to get there. The driver picks the one that suits the time of day.
Daytime: A2 and the M25
From Bexleyheath the driver drops down to the A2 at the Black Prince or Danson interchange and heads east, not west, for two junctions to reach the M25 at Junction 2. Then it is the M25 anti-clockwise around the south and west of London to Junction 15 and the M4 spur into the airport. It is the longer distance at about 42 miles but avoids central London entirely, and it is the reliable choice between 6am and 8pm.
Night: A2, Blackwall Tunnel, M4
After about 9pm and before 5:30am the driver may go west instead: A2 to the A102, through the Blackwall Tunnel, across the top of the Isle of Dogs on the A13 or A12, onto the A40 or the Embankment, and out on the M4. It is shorter, around 32 miles, and can take 50 minutes when the city is empty. In the daytime it would be far slower, so we do not use it then.
Which terminal you need changes the last mile only. Terminal 5 is reached from the M25 directly at Junction 14; Terminals 2 and 3 from the M4 spur; Terminal 4 via the southern perimeter road. The £6 drop-off charge applies at all four and is inside your fare.
Leaving Bexleyheath in time for Heathrow check-in
Airlines at Heathrow want you there three hours ahead of a long-haul flight and two ahead of short haul, and at 6am the Terminal 5 security queue alone can eat half an hour. For a pickup on Bexleyheath Broadway, this is our guidance.

Bexleyheath to Heathrow: car, train or Elizabeth line?
The Elizabeth line now serves Heathrow, and from Abbey Wood it is a single train. But Abbey Wood is not Bexleyheath. From DA6 or DA7 you need a bus or a Southeastern train to reach it, and the Elizabeth line itself takes about 70 minutes to Terminal 5 with stops all the way through the city. Door to door, with two cases and a pushchair, you are looking at two hours and several sets of stairs. And nothing runs early enough for a 6am flight.

Collecting you from Terminals 2–5 for the run to Bexley
Send the inbound flight number and the driver tracks it. Heathrow's arrivals are often early on transatlantic flights and late on European ones; either way, the pickup moves with the aircraft and your 45 minutes of free waiting starts at landing. That is usually enough for e-gates and baggage, though Terminal 3's baggage hall can be slow late in the evening.

Whichever your airline uses, at the same price. Terminal 5 is reached directly from M25 Junction 14, Terminals 2 and 3 from the M4 spur, Terminal 4 from the southern perimeter. Check your booking for the terminal, since BA uses both T3 and T5.
Can you collect from Bexleyheath station?
Yes. The pickup point is on Station Road by the main entrance. Tell us the train you are on and the driver will be there when it arrives. The Heathrow fare from the station is the same as from the Broadway.
Is the Elizabeth line from Abbey Wood cheaper than a taxi?
