Ten pounds to Darent Valley, day or night
Darent Valley Hospital on Darenth Wood Road is Stone's nearest A&E and the main hospital for the whole of Dartford and Gravesham. From Stone it is a six to ten minute run across the A2 at the Bean interchange, and the fare is from £10 whether it is a morning outpatient appointment or a 2am trip to A&E with a poorly child.
We know the site: the main entrance drop-off loop, the separate A&E entrance, and where cars can wait for a discharge without blocking the ambulances. Tell us which entrance you need. For discharges we advise booking once the ward has confirmed the paperwork is done rather than a guessed time; if you are then held up, the first 15 minutes of waiting are free and the rest is charged in small blocks, not by the meter.

Why Stone has the shortest airport times in the borough
With the M25 at Junction 1a on its western side and the crossing approach on its northern side, Stone is roughly ten minutes closer to most airports than central Dartford is, and the prices are trimmed accordingly.

Stansted works especially well from here: the tunnel mouth is a couple of minutes from the village, so the driver never touches the A2.
