Bluewater to Heathrow: M25 or through town?
From Bluewater it is two minutes onto the A2 westbound, then a decision at M25 junction 2.
Anticlockwise on the M25 is the default. You join at J2, pass Swanley, Sevenoaks and the Clacket Lane services, cross the M23 at J7 and keep going round to J15 for the M4 spur into Heathrow. It is about 55 miles and avoids central London entirely. In normal traffic that is 65–80 minutes.
Through the Blackwall Tunnel is the alternative: A2, A102 through the tunnel, then the A12/A406 or the North Circular to the M4 at Chiswick. It is shorter on paper but only sensible late at night or very early in the morning when the tunnel approaches are clear. - Terminal 5 comes first off the M25 at J14, so it is the quickest of the four.
- T2 and T3 are reached from the M4 spur via the Central Terminal Area tunnel.
- T4 sits on the south side, reached via the A30 or the Southern Perimeter Road.

Most long-haul departures from Heathrow go between 6am and 10am, which coincides with the M25 clogging between J5 and J10. Leave before 8am and the trip is nearer an hour; for a flight between 9 and 11am you should allow an extra half hour.

Do you go through the Blackwall Tunnel or round the M25?
That comes down to the hour. Going anticlockwise on the M25 from J2 is the usual choice and keeps you clear of London. In the small hours, though, the A2 through the Blackwall Tunnel and out along the M4 is often quicker. Your driver looks at live traffic before setting off from Dartford, and the fare is identical whichever way is taken.

No. Bluewater is on the Kent side and Heathrow is reached heading west, round the M25 anticlockwise or via Blackwall. You never cross the QEII bridge. Dart Charge only applies if we collect you from the Essex side, which we can also do.
