How the Ebbsfleet forecourt pickup works
Ebbsfleet has a proper taxi forecourt outside the main entrance on concourse level, so there is no lift or footbridge between platform and car.
Give us the train. When you book, tell us which service you are on, for example the 09.10 from St Pancras. We track Southeastern high-speed arrivals live. If the train is held outside Stratford, the driver knows and adjusts; you are not charged for the delay.
Two ways to meet.
- Name board — on request, around £10. The driver stands at the barriers or the concourse doors with a board. The right choice with children or several cases.
- Forecourt — you walk out of the main doors and the car is waiting in the pickup lane. The driver texts the registration ahead of time. No extra cost.
Fifteen minutes of waiting is free at the station, on top of any train delay we have tracked. If you are coming in from Gravesend, Northfleet or Swanscombe rather than off a train, the same forecourt works as a meeting point, or we come to your door. Eurostar no longer calls at Ebbsfleet, so international arrivals come via St Pancras and HS1.
Ebbsfleet to the Heathrow terminals by road
Leaving the station, the driver picks up the A2 westbound at the Ebbsfleet junction, runs past Bluewater and Dartford, and is on the M25 at junction 2 inside ten minutes. The M25 anticlockwise then carries you round the south of London, through Kent and Surrey, to junction 15 and the M4 spur that leads into the airport. Terminal 5 is reached from its own exit at J14, a mile earlier.
In the small hours, with the tunnels empty, the driver may instead stay on the A2, go through the Blackwall Tunnel and join the M4 at Chiswick. That call is made on live traffic, and the fare does not change with the route.

Choosing a St Pancras train that gets you to Heathrow on time
If you are travelling from central London and using Ebbsfleet as your transfer point, the arithmetic runs backwards from the flight:
- Long-haul departure at 13:00, check-in closes 12:00.
- Allow 95 minutes for the drive in a weekday morning, so leave Ebbsfleet by 10:25.
- Trains from St Pancras take 17 minutes, so board the 10:00 or earlier.
For anyone already in north Kent the sums are simpler: from Gravesend, Northfleet or the Garden City estates, allow 2 hours 45 minutes before a morning flight and 2 hours 30 minutes for an afternoon one.
Rush hour on the M25
Weekday mornings between 6.30 and 9.30, and afternoons from 3.30 to 7, are the slow windows, particularly M25 J5 to J10. Sunday evenings can be surprisingly busy with returning weekend traffic. If your flight falls in one of those bands we will suggest a pickup time.

The case for booking ahead rather than hoping at the station
A rank car at Ebbsfleet means an unknown price for a 52-mile run and a driver who may not want the job. Booking ahead settles that before the train leaves St Pancras.

Can I get from St Pancras to Heathrow via Ebbsfleet faster than the Tube?
Often, and with far less carrying. HS1 takes 17 minutes to Ebbsfleet, then the car needs 65–95 minutes; comparable to the Piccadilly line but seated with your luggage throughout. It suits anyone heading to north Kent anyway or leaving a car at Ebbsfleet.
Does Eurostar still stop at Ebbsfleet?
No, not since 2020. Arrivals from Paris or Brussels come into St Pancras, and the Southeastern high-speed train brings you to Ebbsfleet in 17 minutes, where the driver meets you on the forecourt.
Which Heathrow terminal is closest from the M25 side?
Terminal 5, straight off junction 14. Terminals 2 and 3 are a few minutes on via the M4 spur and central tunnel; Terminal 4 sits on the southern perimeter. All four are the same fixed fare from Ebbsfleet; just tell us which.
