A Bluewater day trip by high-speed train and taxi
Bluewater has no station of its own. Greenhithe is a mile away, but from London the faster option is the high-speed line to Ebbsfleet (17 minutes from St Pancras, 11 from Stratford) and a short car ride: inside half an hour of leaving the capital you are in the centre.
Getting there. Book the pickup for your train's arrival time. We track Southeastern high-speed services, so if your train is a few minutes down the driver simply waits, and 15 minutes at the forecourt is free. The car takes you along the A2 and drops at whichever end you want: the Plaza near the Wintergarden, the Guildhall side, or the cinema and restaurants at the Water Circus.

The Showcase cinema at Bluewater runs screenings that finish after midnight, and the restaurants around the Water Circus and the Plaza keep going late. By then the last buses have gone. The last high-speed train from Ebbsfleet towards London leaves a little before midnight.

A word on the car parks
Bluewater's car parks are very large. When you book, name the entrance, not just the car park zone. The main ones are the Plaza, the Guildhall, the Thames Walk and the Water Circus; each has a pickup point outside the doors. If in doubt, stand by the entrance you came in through and message the driver.

One note on the station itself: Eurostar trains no longer stop at Ebbsfleet, so arrivals from the continent come through St Pancras. The domestic high-speed service runs every 15 minutes or so, and we meet all of them.
Why pre-book a three-mile taxi at all?
Because Ebbsfleet and Bluewater are both places where a car is hard to find at the wrong moment.
- The rank at Ebbsfleet is busy after London trains and empty late at night. A booked car is there regardless.
