Dartford to St Pancras & King's Cross Taxi
A 06:15 Eurostar to Paris means being at the check-in barrier by half past five, and the first HS1 service out of Ebbsfleet does not get you there. That gap is where a car earns its keep. Taxi On The Go runs from Dartford to St Pancras International and King's Cross at a fixed fare from £58, ULEZ included, at any hour. Book online or message 020 8888 9988 on WhatsApp.
A taxi from Dartford to St Pancras International costs from £58 one way in a saloon, ULEZ built in, and King's Cross next door is the same price. The drive is about 20 miles through the Blackwall Tunnel and Angel, taking 45–75 minutes. Every journey is pre-booked at a fixed price, 24 hours a day.
Fares to St Pancras and King's Cross from north Kent
Guide prices for a saloon carrying four people and two big suitcases, one way, ULEZ counted. King's Cross is across the road, so both stations share the figure.

| Sidcup DA14 / DA15 | £50 | 40–65 min |
| Bexleyheath DA6 / DA7 | £52 | 40–65 min |

Quoted for a standard saloon; the exact price follows your postcode and vehicle. No Dart Charge applies because we stay south of the river until the tunnel.
The road from Dartford to Pancras Road
Two ways in, and the driver picks according to the clock. By day it is the A2 as far as Sun in the Sands, then the A102 north through the Blackwall Tunnel, the A12 to Bow and the A11 west through Mile End and Whitechapel. From Old Street the car climbs City Road to Angel, runs along Pentonville Road and reaches Euston Road with King's Cross on the right and St Pancras beyond it.
After about 9pm the southern approach is often quicker: off the A2 at New Cross, along the Old Kent Road to the Elephant, over Blackfriars Bridge and up Farringdon Road. It avoids the tunnel altogether, which matters on the nights the Blackwall is shut for maintenance.
Where the car stops
- St Pancras International — the taxi rank on Pancras Road, east side, a short walk from Eurostar check-in on the lower level. The Midland Road entrance on the west side is step-free if the bags are heavy.
- King's Cross — the forecourt off Euston Road in front of the main concourse.
Working back from a Eurostar or a train north
Eurostar asks you to be through check-in 45 to 90 minutes before departure depending on the ticket and how busy the terminal is; the gates close ten minutes before the train leaves. King's Cross departures to Leeds, York and Edinburgh are more forgiving, but an advance fare is still lost if you miss the seat.
| Departure | Leave Dartford | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Eurostar 06:00–07:30 | 2h before | Empty roads, but check-in and passport control |
| Eurostar 08:00–10:00 | 2h 30m before | Blackwall and City Road morning peak |
| Eurostar midday onwards | 2h 15m before | Steady traffic at Bow and Angel |
| King's Cross train, morning | 1h 45m before | No check-in, but allow for the peak |
| King's Cross train, evening | 1h 30m before | Quieter roads after 7pm |
When the car beats HS1 from Ebbsfleet, and when it does not
For one person with a rucksack at midday, the high-speed train from Ebbsfleet International reaches St Pancras in 17 minutes and we would not argue with it. A taxi earns its place in these situations.
Four people, four cases
Four HS1 fares plus the cab to Ebbsfleet cost more than £58 and mean two changes of vehicle with the luggage.
The 06:00 Eurostar
The first trains out of Ebbsfleet do not give enough margin for the earliest continental departures. A 3:45am pickup at home does.
You are nowhere near Ebbsfleet
From Sidcup, Swanley or Bexleyheath the drive to Ebbsfleet points the wrong way; the A2 straight into town is shorter.
Late arrivals back
The last Eurostar from Paris lands around 10pm and HS1 back to Ebbsfleet still leaves you needing a cab.
What you pay us is settled in advance and does not creep up in the tunnel queue. Firms sending staff abroad use a monthly business account.
Collecting you from St Pancras after a train in
Give us the train number and origin — Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, or an LNER service into King's Cross — and we watch the arrivals board rather than the clock, so the pickup moves with the train.
Suggested meeting points:
- Eurostar arrivals — leave the arrivals area, turn right along the lower concourse and exit onto Pancras Road, where the driver waits by the rank.
- Southeastern and Thameslink platforms — come down to the main concourse and use the Midland Road exit.
- King's Cross — the rank on the west side by the new concourse.
The driver texts the registration while you clear the exit. A name board at the top of the Eurostar ramp can be added for a guide £10. If passport control on a busy Friday runs long, message the driver and they hold on. See also Dartford to Euston and Dartford to Liverpool Street.

Dartford to St Pancras taxi — questions
How much is a taxi from Dartford to St Pancras?
From £58 one way for a saloon, ULEZ included, and King's Cross is the same. Sidcup is from £50, Bexleyheath £52, Greenhithe and Swanley £60, Ebbsfleet £62, Gravesend £68 and Rochester £85. A 6-seat MPV adds roughly a quarter, an 8-seater about half.
Where exactly will the driver drop me at St Pancras?
At the taxi rank on Pancras Road by default, the east side of the station and closest to Eurostar check-in downstairs. If you would rather use the Midland Road entrance or the King's Cross forecourt on Euston Road, say so when booking.
Is it not quicker to take the train from Ebbsfleet?
Often, yes: HS1 from Ebbsfleet reaches St Pancras in 17 minutes. The taxi wins with a group and luggage, for a very early Eurostar the first Ebbsfleet trains cannot reach, from Sidcup or Swanley where Ebbsfleet is the wrong direction, and for late arrivals back.
How early should I leave Dartford for a Eurostar?
Eurostar wants you checked in 45 to 90 minutes before departure. For a train before 07:30 leave two hours ahead; for morning-peak departures two and a half; for midday and afternoon trains two and a quarter usually does it.
Can you pick me up at St Pancras when my Eurostar arrives?
Yes. Send the train number and we track its actual arrival. Leave the Eurostar arrivals area, follow the lower concourse to the Pancras Road exit, and the driver's registration will be waiting in your messages. A name board at the exit can be added.
Do you go through the Blackwall Tunnel or south of the river?
By day it is normally the Blackwall Tunnel, the A12 and the A11 to Angel. At night, or when the tunnel is closed for works, the driver goes via the Old Kent Road, Elephant and Castle and Blackfriars Bridge. Same fixed fare either way.
Is the ULEZ charge included?
It is. The route enters Greater London on the A2 near Bexley and stays inside the zone, so the daily charge sits inside your £58 rather than appearing afterwards. No Dart Charge either, because we never use the crossing.
Can you take me to King's Cross for a train to Edinburgh at 5:40am?
Yes. A pickup in Dartford around 4:15am covers it comfortably on empty roads, and we run every night of the year. The driver drops on the Euston Road forecourt, a minute from the departures board.
