How the driver gets from the A2 to Terminus Place
Victoria sits on the wrong side of the West End for the Blackwall Tunnel, so the default route stays south of the river. From Dartford the car joins the A2 at Princes Road, passes Danson and Falconwood, and leaves at New Cross for the Old Kent Road. That leads to the Bricklayers Arms and the Elephant, then Kennington Lane to Vauxhall Cross, over Vauxhall Bridge and up Vauxhall Bridge Road to the station.
When the Old Kent Road is dug up, the driver may use the Blackwall Tunnel, the Limehouse Link and the Embankment to Millbank instead — longer in miles, sometimes quicker mid-morning.

Timing a pickup for the coach station or the Gatwick Express
National Express and FlixBus close boarding a few minutes before the printed departure, and the coach gates are a walk from the road, so build in ten minutes on top of the drive. The Gatwick Express runs every quarter of an hour, which softens a missed train, but a 05:00 coach to Manchester has no next one.

Vauxhall Bridge Road is the pinch point in the morning; Old Kent Road is the one in the afternoon. Bromley, Sidcup and Bexleyheath are ten minutes closer than Dartford; Gravesend is fifteen further out. Catching Southern to Brighton on a booked seat? Treat it like the coach and use the longer margin.
Taxi versus the train from Dartford station
Southeastern runs from Dartford to Victoria in around 40 minutes, and for a solo traveller in daylight that is a fair option. People book a car instead for practical reasons.

Coaches at 04:30 and 05:00 leave before the first service from Dartford, and the night bus is no plan with luggage.

How early should I leave Dartford for an early coach from Victoria?
For a coach before 06:30, an hour and a quarter is plenty on empty roads. Between 06:30 and 09:30 allow an hour and fifty minutes for Vauxhall Bridge Road. Boarding closes before the printed time, so the extra ten minutes matters.
Is a taxi to Victoria worth it when Southeastern goes there directly?
For one person mid-morning, probably not. It is worth it before the first train, for three or four people with cases, when you need the coach station rather than the platforms, and on weekends when the line is on replacement buses.
Which way does the driver go — Blackwall Tunnel or south of the river?
South of the river is the default: A2, Old Kent Road, Elephant and Castle, Vauxhall Bridge Road. When the Old Kent Road is congested the driver may use the Blackwall Tunnel and the Embankment instead. Either way the fare does not change.
Where will the driver meet me when my coach arrives at Victoria?
Coach arrivals use the Elizabeth Street building, separate from departures. The driver waits on that side and texts the registration once the coach is shown as arrived. For train arrivals the meeting point is the forecourt on Terminus Place.
Do you cover the Gatwick Express at Victoria, or should I just go to Gatwick?
Both work. Going to Gatwick itself, the direct run is from £75 and quicker than Victoria plus the train. Victoria makes sense when you are meeting others there or continuing into town.
Is the ULEZ charge extra?
No. Everything from the Bexley border inwards is inside the zone, so the charge is built into the £55 rather than added on the day. No Dart Charge either, as the crossing is not used.
